Mun Information:
Name: Ethan
Character Information
Name: John "Jack" Hayter (aka Naked Snake, Big Boss)
Fandom: Metal Gear Solid
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual. (Fun story, it's completely canon.)
Occupation: Therapist, transferring in from another madhouse.
Personality: The first thing many people will notice about John is the look of concentration which always seems to be present on his face. This is not a mistake on their part; John is incredibly tenacious, and in the event that he feels something needs to be done, he will often do it himself without waiting for the proper authorities. (This may also have something to do with his distaste for figures in power, as he will voluntarily defy authority to the point of rash idiocy.) However, though many people will never see it, John chooses to relax quite often (usually with a cigar in his mouth or a bottle of scotch in his hand), and can almost be easy-going at these points. His sense of humor is quirky and dry, and coupled with a heavy dose of cynicism and an odd habit of flirting with whomever he chooses, he has a habit of either endearing himself to people immediately or enraging them just as quickly. He is also fiercely intelligent (not as much as his clone son nephew, though he makes no effort to publicize the fact. In fact, it seems like he comes from a family of intellectual prodigies. He is fluent in several different languages, mainly due to necessity, and is a decent (rather superior, he likes to think) military strategist.
Above all those traits, however, lies a sense of duty. If he feels that something needs done, or if he has been given a task that he feels is necessary / worth the attention, he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. This "honor" comes with an incredibly loyalty, as well - although he is generally somewhat genial, he will fiercely guard those who have befriended him. (This applies to patient and staff member alike. In fact, John is - sadly - more likely to befriend the patients themselves.)
History: As an elite member of a small special ops group (codename Naked Snake), John became famous in the military for his effective actions and choices. Soon rising up to command a unit himself, he gained the nickname "Big Boss" from those underneath him. He was respected widely for his brilliant moves (after all, Snake was not a man of standard intelligence) and for continuing to stay in the line of duty.
However, all things end somehow, and Snake's career was no exception. What started as a simple recon mission ended disastrously; Snake was captured and most of his unit was killed thanks to the faulty briefings they had received. For the better part of a month, Snake was tortured and beaten for information; during this time, a revolver flash - ironically from the person who was helping him undercover, one Adamska Vasilevskiy - caused him to lose his eye. By the time he was rescued, John was all but dead. The scars still remain on his body.
One loss alone would not have been enough to deter John's spirit. However, thanks to the knowledge of exactly who had defected, combined with the physical scarring that had been inflicted on him, John was about ready to end his military career. He retired gracefully, being honored to every extent that he could be honored, and retired to a more quiet life.
But America would never be the same for him. What was once "the land of the free" now only served to dredge up the memories that should have remained hidden in his mind. It was time to escape the nationalistic country that had once fit him so well. At first, the idyllic setting of Russia called out to him. The stark beauty of the white grounds reminded him of the woman that he had once seen as a tutor, almost a mother. Finding a spot open for a therapist - and finding that, as popular as the institution was, there was no need for proper paperwork or anything similar - he almost immediately applied for the job. (In fact, showing up in a respectable white coat and glasses seemed to be all the verification he needed.) It would provide a way to relax, examining other people and doing something to at least potentially help the world somehow.
However, certain problems rose up, and John - along with an certain group of patients and therapists - decided that a transfer was in order. Taking those patients who were in need of closer surveillance - and, in all truth, those that they had grown attachments to - John and the rest of the group transferred to a far more secure location. One Ravenshold asylum, located in Canada. It was time to return to his homeland - or at least, the continent it was on.
As a therapist, John does everything within his power to actually help his patients. Admittedly, his methods are unorthodox (ranging from teasing and flirting to "therapy sessions" that fall outside of the rules), but his intentions are well-meant. At the same time, he enjoys seeing exactly how people react to various things. In the end, the two compulsions work hand in hand, allowing him to get underneath a patient's skin and find their weak point.
John has been through hell and back thanks to his military history. Although he doesn't suffer from PTSD, per se, he has seen enough horrors to leave him disenchanted with the state of the world.
Symptoms: See above. Again, he's a staff member, and he's sane enough to get his job done.
